Four Gangnam lunch spots from recent Korean reviews, with what English guides leave out — break times, card policy, and whether you need the Naver app.
How we chose these. We read 47 recent Korean-language reviews and discarded31 of them as sponsored or promotional. We have not eaten at these places ourselves — this is a selection from Korean sources, not a personal review.Last checked September 2026.
Gangnam is not where Koreans go for a memorable lunch. It is where they go for a fast one,
between meetings, and that shapes everything about eating here: the queues at noon, the
break time from three to five, and the fact that half the good places close at weekends
when the offices empty out.
That last point is the one that catches visitors. A restaurant with five hundred glowing
Korean reviews can be shut on the Saturday you walk to it. The four below are open at
different times on purpose — read the hours before you pick one.
The places
Sunrye Kalguksu
순례 칼국수 · Knife-cut noodles · ₩9,000–12,000
The only place in this list where reviewers kept mentioning the broth rather than the interior. Reviews from 2024 through 2026 describe the same thing, which usually means the kitchen has not changed hands. Expect to queue from 12:00; go at 11:30 or after 13:30.
Hours 11:00–20:30 Break 15:00–17:00 Last order 20:00 Closed SundaysAs reported in Korean reviews dated 2026-08-14 (cross-checked across 3 posts). Korean restaurants change hours often — confirm before you go.

Baekban Hyeongje
백반형제 · Home-style set meal · ₩11,000
A single set menu that changes daily, which is why almost no blogger photographs it properly and why it never shows up in English guides. Good if you want to eat the way office workers around here actually eat. No English anywhere — point at what the next table has.

Mureung Sikdang
무릉식당 · Grilled fish · ₩14,000–18,000
Reviewers consistently complain about the smell clinging to their clothes, which is a good sign for a grilled fish place and a bad one if you have an afternoon meeting. Ventilation is poor; the fish is not.
Hours 11:00–22:00 Break 15:30–17:00 Last order 21:00 As reported in Korean reviews dated 2026-09-01 (cross-checked across 4 posts). Korean restaurants change hours often — confirm before you go.

Getting thereLine 2 Yeoksam Station, Exit 3 — 5 min walk
Ondal Bunsik
온달분식 · Snack bar · ₩6,000–9,000
Included because it solves a specific problem — it is open through the afternoon when almost everything else in Gangnam closes for a break, and it takes cash from a machine rather than a conversation. Not a destination, but the right answer at 16:00.
Hours 10:00–21:00 Closed First and third Monday of the monthAs reported in Korean reviews dated 2026-08-28 (cross-checked across 2 posts). Korean restaurants change hours often — confirm before you go.
